TRIAC or triode for alternating current is a type of semiconductor device consisting of three terminals namely M1, M2, and Gate which allows current flow when triggered in either direction. TIRAC unlike its substitute such as Silicone Controlled Rectifier (SCR), uses a single fuse for protection, has four modes of operation, and can control positive as well negative alternate current signal output.
