  • PROLOC Bioadhesive: Henkel's patented PROLOC bioadhesive technology is an improved method for delivering therapeutic drugs locally and across mucosal membranes at different absorption locations. While still being gentle on the mucosa, PROLOC bioadhesive nanoparticles offer improved bioadhesive characteristics and the potential for larger medication loading. A patented technique using USP-grade amylopectin (waxy maize) and USP-grade carbomer is used to create PROLOC bioadhesive gels. Carbomers are bioadhesive polymers that are frequently found in skin care products and are perfect for targeted and regulated drug administration. The PROLOC system can be used as a powder, cast as a film, or crushed as a tablet.
