  • In July 2022, Nestlé opens a $340m Nescafé coffee factory in Mexico. In the plant, over 40,000 tonnes of green coffee will be processed annually, mostly from Mexican coffee farms. No garbage is generated at the Veracruz factory that would end up in a landfill. Also, a biomass boiler is included, which will produce electricity using the biological waste from the coffee-making process.
  • In June 2022, the debut of Intelligentsia in K-Cup® pods for the Keurig® brewing system was announced by Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. and Intelligentsia Coffee, and it's the first time the super-premium coffee brand will be made available to customers in this way.
